When asked, they simply reply that vaccinations are “shots to make sure their children are healthy. ” A vaccination is weak or killed bacteria that is injected into your child to make their body prone to this disease, and helps the body eight it off (Terry, Carol. 007). How safe does that sound to you? Everyday we make our kids wash their hand to keep the bacteria away, but those who choose to vaccinate, are injecting their own children with the very thing we try to keep them away from. Vaccinations are not 100% effective and that is one of the reasons why parent’s argue that their child should not be vaccinated (McNeil, Donald G. 2002). Parent’s don’t want to put their child through the pain of the injection, when it may to even work for their child.
Another reason why some opt out of vaccinations are for religious and spiritual reasons. There are claims that childhood vaccinations are linked to autism in children as well, but there is no medical proof to back this claim up. On the other hand, parent’s who do choose to vaccinate their children argue that it’s the only way to keep their children safe. Throughout the years vaccinations have saved millions of lives, and helped prevent many of diseases from spreading like they loud have.
